April and May 2021

Help the Episcopal Deacons of Charles County minister to the needs of food-insecure students at the College of Southern Maryland.

Durham Church has agreed to provide 25 boxes of cereal and 16 bags of apples in April and again in May.

The April date is coming up fast: contributions are needed by April 7, and ideally should be brought to the church on Easter Sunday (April 4).

Serving the Community

Community Resource Day 2020 was a success! Deacon Susan represented us there, helping to run the Compassion Cafe where there was free pizza from food trucks and water and sweet treats supplied through Joe's Place and other local churches.

Christ Church Durham Parish has had a presence in the Nanjemoy community since 1661.  The history of the church reflects our caring and compassionate love for local neighbors.  For over 350 years we have been a holy site where people can come to worship God and receive pastoral care.

Through our outreach we provide assistance to our local neighbors such as food and sometimes clothing and toys from our Joe's Place Food Pantry.  Fresh, clean water is always available from our well.

In addition, we partner with local organizations to help provide meals for families at the local elementary school, and volunteer our time and resources wherever we can.  Below are some of the things we have been up to!

Many thanks to everyone who signed up to make Easter baskets for Nanjemoy children.  The response was overwhelmingly generous, and the families will be picking up their baskets and meals from Neighbors Eager to Serve in Holy Week.
